## Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGIFounded in 1993, the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena has been dedicated to safeguarding, promoting and enhancing one of Italy’s most iconic geographical indications.After years of commitment, the Consortium successfully achieved the registration of **Balsamic Vinegar of Modena** as a **Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)** in 2009. Since 2014, it has been officially entrusted by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture with the protection and supervision of the PGI.Today, the Consortium acts as the guardian of the Product Specification, ensuring authenticity, quality and compliance throughout the production chain. It also serves as the voice of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena worldwide, engaging with institutions, trade professionals, media and consumers to promote awareness of its heritage, culture and versatility.The Consortium currently represents **50 member companies**, including some of the historic producers that have contributed to the international success of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena for over a century.Present in more than 120 countries, Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI is a symbol of Italian excellence, combining tradition, craftsmanship and innovation to meet the expectations of consumers around the world.
