Asamurasaki Co., Ltd. was founded in 1910 (Meiji 43) in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture (formerly Fukatsu Village) as “Fujii Kunigorō Main Store,” a predecessor of Asamurasaki, specializing in soy sauce production. In 1923 (Taisho 12), when we were honored as a purveyor to the Imperial Household, we received the naming of “Asamurasaki” from His Excellency Takamitsu Mimuroto, then Imperial Court Advisor, with the meaning of 'Asamurasaki' as the purple offered to the Imperial Court (a poetic term for soy sauce). This is the origin of our company name, “Asamurasaki.” Thanks to everyone’s support, we will celebrate our 116th anniversary in 2026. The daily accumulation of effort has borne fruit, with our “Kaki Soy Sauce” receiving the highest gold award at the Monde Selection for ten consecutive years. Many of our other products have also received numerous awards.At Asamurasaki, we create products with particular attention to ingredients and manufacturing methods, using the latest equipment and quality control systems. With our desire to deliver deliciousness, safety, and excitement, we will continue to embrace change without fear, believing in limitless possibilities while preserving the inherited spirit, craftsmanship, and tradition. We strive to develop products that look toward the future and take on the challenge of creating new food cultures. We hope that the seasonings we create can bring smiles to everyone.
